The AIFF-FIFA Capacity Building for Coaches 2025–26 programme commenced successfully at the AIFF National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata on October 13, 2025, aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and overall capabilities of football coaches across India. The three-day workshop brought together 27 coaches from various states, providing intensive theoretical and practical sessions designed to elevate their understanding of modern football coaching methodologies. Sessions were led by senior AIFF officials, including Technical Director Sabir Pasha, Head of Coach Education Vivek Nagul, and Coach Educator Jeddy Almeida. The programme covered an extensive curriculum, including the evolution of game models, tactical frameworks, leadership and team management, talent identification, coach self-development, mentoring, fitness and load management, and injury prevention strategies. Practical exercises, live demonstrations, and scenario-based training enabled participants to apply theoretical knowledge directly to on-field situations. Coaches were encouraged to analyze game patterns, improve decision-making, and refine training techniques that could be implemented in their respective clubs and academies. The initiative reflects AIFF’s commitment to aligning coaching standards in India with global best practices and emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development for football instructors. By investing in the education and development of coaches, AIFF aims to create a strong foundation for nurturing young talent, improving player performance, and enhancing the overall quality of football in India. The collaborative environment allowed coaches to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build a network of professional relationships that can support long-term football development. The programme also reinforced the significance of adopting innovative strategies, analytical tools, and sports science principles to optimize player growth and team success. Upon completion, participants received certificates recognizing their successful engagement in the programme, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to football development at the grassroots and professional levels across the country.
