India Create History: Third Most Test Wins at Home After 2–0 Series Sweep vs West Indies

India wrapped up the Delhi Test with a commanding seven-wicket win, completing a 2–0 series sweep over the West Indies and marking another milestone in their dominant home record. Chasing just 58 runs on the fifth morning, India secured victory comfortably — while the West Indies earned some pride through their resilient batting and a few long-awaited milestones.

🇮🇳 Key Records and Stats from India’s Win Over West Indies

7 – Rising star Dhruv Jurel has been part of seven consecutive Test wins since his debut, the best start for any Indian player. He surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who had six wins in his first six matches.

13 – India lost only 13 wickets across the two Tests — their joint-lowest in any series win of two or more matches, matching their 1–0 home win over Zimbabwe in 2000.

122 – With this victory, India reached 122 Test wins at home, moving up to third place overall behind Australia (262) and England (241), and surpassing South Africa (121).

🌍 West Indies: Bright Spots Amid Defeat

50 – John Campbell finally reached his maiden Test century in his 50th innings, becoming the first West Indies batter to score a hundred in 2025. Only Ridley Jacobs (56) and Denesh Ramdin (52) took longer to reach their first century.

2968 – Shai Hope scored his third Test century after an incredible 2968-day wait since his twin tons at Leeds in 2017. This marks the longest gap between centuries for any West Indies batter, surpassing Gordon Greenidge’s 2204 days.
